A Quilters Lumberyard Presents: Half Rec Rodeo

Quilts with half rectangle elements are intriguing, challenging and fun. You might think Half-rectangles (half-recs) are similar to half-square triangles. But they are not! Half-Recs do not have equal sides and the orientation of the rectangle is different. These differences and the direction of that diagonal cut are important design elements when making quilts with half-rectangles. Using the half rectangle portion of the Tri-Recs tools template set as your template you will:

      · practice cutting half-recs from 4 ½” strips, including half-rec cuts with different orientations.

      · sew a sample set of half-rec orientations to use as a reference.

      · sew a series of half-rec practice blocks.

       ·view and discuss project samples with half-rec design variations.

 This class is best suited for intermediate & experienced quilters.
