According to Google, to “coil” means to arrange or wind something long and flexible in a joined sequence of concentric circles or rings. It’s not difficult to imagine coiling fabric-covered clothesline into a variety of useful items including bowls, baskets, trivets, coasters, placemats, and more. Staying true to our mission to make use of all sizes of fabric scraps, it’s not easy to find a way to productively create something from strips as narrow as ¾ of an inch. Our friend, Marguerite, introduced us to this process and we were off and running with new ideas. Join us to discover how you can create fabric bowls and other stylish home accessories from skinny, scrappy kindling strips or strips cut from new fabric.

In this class you will:

• learn basic techniques for wrapping, coiling, and stitching fabric-covered clothesline in assorted shapes and sizes.
• discuss options for embellishing the finished project.
• discover a variety of resources available for future fabric-covered clothesline projects.
